Pitch Black is a new sensory experience, but with one big twist! It's in complete darkness!

Pitch Black came to fame after the successful launch of their pop in Shoreditch late last year.  Now they're back again! In one of London's best locations. Pitch Black is located in a secret central London location, surrounded by the trendiest restaurants, theater and shopping destinations of the Capital city.

Enjoy a warm welcome reception with prosecco on arrival before entering the unknown. Once in the dark enjoy a selection of 4 drinks, including cocktail and/or wines.  In keeping with the same principals as before, the project boldly aims to shift the focus solely on the facets of flavour, aroma and mouthfeel as opposed to presentation. Dismiss any fears you have about being cast into a disorienting dark den, as guests will initially enter a gently lit space, be formally introduced to their server and have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their surroundings before the lights go down. At lights out, staff and patrons are invited to remain communicative, discussing the festival of herbaceous, sweet, savory and floral treats set before them.

The session lasts for 90 minutes and is a completely interactive experience.   Expect some witty banter, and a pleasant surprise once the drinks are revealed to you at the end of the session.

Entry to 'Pitch Black' is strictly on a bookings only basis, where tickets may be purchased via the website. Allocated time slots of 90 minutes are available for what is a fully experimental experience.  A multi-sensory adventure unlike any other, it’s the perfect outing for big groups of friends, or couples.

With great shopping, restaurants, theaters and bars in the area, why not make a day of it. Tickets are available for £39 and are expected to go quickly. Make your booking today.

Pitch Black - Event Review

Heading to this tasting, I wasn't quite sure how to feel. After all, the thought of a sitting in a dark room with strangers and tasting mysterious drinks you didn't order is a scenario we've all actively striven to avoid. But proving there's nothing...

The description of this event made it sound more intimate than the reality. When we turned up it was a room with around 16 to 20 people in. There was a very brief intro...lights were turned off and then half measure of cocktails served 1 at a time. There were 4 different ones in total. What made it was the other couple sharing our table. However, the overall experience by the outfit was disappointing. An experience? Yes. Would we go back or recommend? No. Visited Secret Location on 2018-02-16

I was emailed an hour before the booking to tell me that the address was incorrect on the email I had received but would be correct on the ticket. However, both addresses were the same. So not to miss out and so I could verify I called the number on the email 5/10 minutes after receiving it but got no answer. I then sent an email to them, no response. Safe to say I didn't make it to Pitch Black and they've had £80+ from me for nothing. Quite shocking really. Visited Secret Location on 2018-02-15

Did not go in the end. 1 hour before the event was going to start we received an email saying that they had given us the wrong venue. At this point I was on the tube and didn’t pick the email up until after I got out at Covent Garden. We were told that we had to make our to Islington if we wanted to participate in the evening. Which would have been impossible so I asked for a full refund which was accepted. But I haven’t heard anything back about being refunded. Terrible service, completely ruined our Valentine’s Day evening. Maybe just an accident but, could have been handled in a much more professional manner. Visited Secret Location on 2018-02-15

The event itself was brilliant. Sam was a really great host and the cocktails were delicious. Great venue, loved the decor and really enjoyed the evening. Only niggle with the event was the volume of the other guests. When you're completely in the dark and people are being quite loud- it can be a little overwhelming. Plus, it was sometimes difficult to hear what Sam was saying about all the cocktails- though she did make an effort to go from table to table to talk them through. Feel maybe more should be done to let guests know that the experience can be hampered when people are too loud. Visited Secret Location on 2017-09-01

Really unique experience and a lot of fun! A great alternative to the usual Friday-drinks-after-work routine. Sam was a wonderful host and the cocktails were delicious! Visited Secret Location on 2017-09-01

Not what I expected for £40 pp. 4 cocktails that didn't seem like full measures in a dark room and asked to guess what they are. No production values just a waiter and a dark room. You can get the same cocktails at the tapas bar over the road (same people). Visited Secret Location on 2017-08-31

Interesting experience but annoyingly we had people in the room who kept using their phone as a light look at the drinks. Perhaps asking people to be considerate at the beginning would be useful. Also some water would've been great. Visited Secret Location on 2017-08-31

A great experience where you really get to discover and discuss the flavours of the wonderful drinks that are expertly put together. Dom was a really knowledgable host, and made the experience really entertaining and enlightening (despite the pitch black). Visited Secret Location on 2017-06-22

A great night out, either with friends or a date. Forces you to lose inhibitions, and really analyse your senses. I quite often got the tastes wrong, but enjoyable finding out where you went wrong. Dom and the female host were sweet, attentive and had decent banter with all guests. Only thing that could have made it better would be to have the glow in the dark drinks mats - because of this you felt like you need to hold your drink throughout. Otherwise a relaxed, enjoyable evening! Visited Secret Location on 2017-06-02

Overpriced, duration of event was too long with a lack of entertainment (apart from the stag do), no canapés as I saw in other reviews, go here before Dans Le Noir otherwise you will be disappointed Visited Secret Location on 2017-05-26

Lovely guys running it but very disappointed . Expensive for what it was. Booked for four cocktails but had two cocktails and two glasses of wine. I don't drink wine and wouldn't have booked it had I known. Cocktails weren't the best quality. Good concept though. Visited Secret Location on 2017-05-19

Concept was good and so were the cocktails. The wine was a waste of time as unless you were an expert, there was no way anyone could guess anything other than the colour. You could with the cocktails. Venue a bit seedy looking but ok. A little pricey for what we got but we did enjoy the different experience. Top marks for the lady who delivered the drink and had to put up with unfunny, rude and annoying drunk people. Visited Secret Location on 2017-05-12

Needs to do a fair bit more to become professional night out event - ATM just feels like a rip off (e.g. amuse bouche, no real description of wine, not fully a black room) Visited Secret Location on 2017-05-12

I love the idea and having eaten at Dans Le Nior it follows a similar sensatorial concept. I have done a lot of this kind of activity and found the team to be friendly and knowledgable, however, for the money we were served two cocktails, which were great, then it seemed like the effort had run out as we were then served two reasonably poor quality glasses of wine. If we had four different cocktails then it would have been great, we just felt slightly cheated and a little disappointed.

A lot of fun, interactive, different, worth a visit if you're up for something quirky. Cocktails were good, wine choices could have been better. Perhaps they could have offered more nibbles/canapés. Booking experience was painful. Visited Secret Location on 2017-05-10

We had a fantastic experience at Pitch Black. Dom was an impeccable host, he was extremely engaging and greatly added to the experience. Lee gave us an extremely warm welcome and put everyone at ease right from the start. The experience allowed the guests to interact with each other and we had a variety of discussions around what we thought the drinks might be, with a variety of suggestions, most of them wildly wrong! Taking away one of the senses lead to a truly unique experience and one which we would definitely do again! Our thanks goes to Lee and Dom who have designed an amazing night which you will thoroughly enjoy! Clara and Sam Visited Secret Location on 2017-04-21

Really great experience, and the hosts were very entertaining. Perfect for a date or small group of friends. Cocktails were good an even though we were not big wine drinkers we quite like the red.

Really disappointing experience. The place smelt like strong bleach and was really off putting. The coasters were not working made with badly glow in the dark paint. Then we were given a two cocktails, they were simple, not sure if there was any alcohol at all, worse of all not experimental at all. Then we were given a piece of celery and tomato as an appetizer. Followed by the cheap quarter of the glass wines that most people didn't even finish. Not worth the money at all! Visited Secret Location on 2017-04-14

The experience was slightly underwhelming . We arrived and the hosts had not set up the experience so felt poorly organised which was slightly annoying as the tickets aren't cheap. As I stepped up to the door of the building sign posted ‘Pitch-black event’, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into – from the outside it is not your average bar. But as soon as I saw other couples with the same curious expressions like me, I knew I was in the right place. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a big smile and a glass of prosecco and I immediately felt I was amongst friends at a dinner party. The ‘pitch black’ event is an incredible and surprising experience. Used to always knowing what I am drinking by looking at it, it was great to experience cocktails and wines by only relying on my taste. You will be surprised by how difficult it is to guess what you’re drinking – even those cocktails you think you are very familiar with. I really much enjoyed taking the time to connect with other senses –which are sometimes neglected as sight always prevaricates. A really fun and insightful evening and a great idea for a date night.#lovepopupslondon

Brilliant date night for something relaxed but a bit different. Dom is charming and a great host. It's really interesting how hard it is to guess the drinks you're trying. Nice venue too. At first blush looks expensive, but when you think what drinks cost normally in a bar, this is actually good value (you get at least 5). Visited Secret Location on 2017-02-24

Original event. Great way of discovering known and unknown cocktail flavours. The host is friendly and welcoming. The red wine happened to be corked, and in substitution we were served another prosecco, which was nice of him. We would have appreciated a more detailed explanation of flavours and smells, and why people may confound one drink with another. Visited Secret Location on 2016-12-06

Nice and dark, sufficient amounts of drink confusion and excellent hosts. Two of the guests were so smashed they succeeded in knocking over the drinks before lights out but they thankfully baled before the session properly started. Would have liked even more sensory deprivation (no music). Recommended for the challenge to the tastebuds and a change to the norm. Visited Secret Location on 2016-12-03

Great host and delicious cocktails but could be improved in a different venue - music from the adjoining bar was quite loud and there was a bit of light drifting in from the kitchen so wasn't the full sensory experience we were expecting Visited Secret Location on 2016-12-01

Positives: Good fun, nice hosts, interesting experience and great concept Negatives: Event started half an hour late, time between drinks was a little too long (four drinks in 2.5 hours) and at £48 a go it felt a little pricey Visited Secret Location on 2016-12-03

While it was dark, it probably should also have been silent. There wasn't a real sense of sensory deprivation at all - just drinks in the dark. It was fun enough - something to do, but it really wasn't a sensation. And for the price, it wasn't an amazing night. Visited Secret Location on 1970-01-01
